Mr. Fouad Makhzoumi: we need to end the crisis within Dar Al Fatwa to ensure the interests of the Muslim community.

The head of the National Dialogue Party, Mr. Fouad Makhzoumi, noted that political sectarianism is becoming increasingly rooted in the social, economic, and political levels thus prolonging the political crisis.

Mr. Makhzoumi made his comments following a meeting with Mr. Omar Karami at his home in Ramlet-El-Bayda during which the two discussed the latest developments and agreed on the need for the appointed commission within Dar Al Fatwa to investigate the latest allegations and issue an official report in order to end the crisis within Dar Al Fatwa and safeguard the interests of the Muslim community.

Mr. Makhzoumi called on all political figures within the Sunni community to address the internal rift within the sect as well as the various attempts to divide the Sunni and Shiite sects in Lebanon.

Mr. Makhzoumi also congratulated Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir on the 1600th jubilee of the Patron Saint of the Maronite community.
