Mr. Fouad Makhzoumi visits Chatila: the condition of the Sunni community is disturbing and Israeli threats require a response worthy of Beirut, the resistance and Arabism. According to the head of the National Dialogue Party, Mr. Fouad Makhzoumi, the situation of the Sunni community is disturbing, both on the religious and political levels. He added that covering up for individuals' mistakes will eventually backfire as people listen and observe, and eventually every single leader, political or religious, will be held accountable for his actions.
Mr. Makhzoumi made his comments following a meeting with Kamal Chatila in Burj Abou Haidar during which the two discussed the political, economic and social developments as well as the ongoing Israeli threats, especially those aimed directly at Prime Minister Saad Hariri. Mr. Makhzoumi commented that these threats called for a response worthy of Beirut, the resistance and Arabism.
Mr. Makhzoumi added: "We highly appreciated the meeting of former Prime Ministers with Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri to address the issue of Dar Al-Fatwa and the accusations which have been made against the Grand Mufti. We consider that serious and continuous follow-up is important because the issue relates to the affairs of all Muslims."
