Mr. Fouad Makhzoumi regrets the inability of Parliament and the Cabinet to finalise various pending issues.

The head of the National Dialogue Party, Mr. Fouad Makhzoumi, regretted the inability of the Lebanese Parliament and the Cabinet to finalise certain issues including the upcoming municipal elections, reducing the legal voting age and adopting proportional representation. Mr. Makhzoumi expressed his concern at a general lack of interest in improving government services in the country.

Mr. Makhzoumi made his comments following a meeting with former President Emile Lahoud at his home in Yarze, during which the two men discussed local and regional developments in view of the latest Israeli threats against Lebanon. Mr. Makhzoumi and Mr. Lahoud agreed on the importance of supporting the resistance, which has become a real deterrent to Israel, as well as the need for continue cooperation between the army and the resistance.
